Head of IT Job Title: Head of IT Location: Hybrid - Tamworth / Sheffield / Gloucester (based on your location) Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 per annum Benefits: To be confirmed Reporting to: COO Team: Managing a team of around 15 IT professionals About the Role: My service led client is seeking a Head of IT. This role requires a transformational leader with a proven track record in driving innovative IT solutions that align with business goals. The successful candidate will oversee a complex IT environment with around 100 systems, 250 software applications, and support for over 1500 users and 5000 assets. The role also involves managing relationships with multiple service providers and ensuring the seamless integration of cloud and on-premise infrastructures. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Lead the IT department, providing vision and direction for the technology landscape. Drive digital transformation initiatives to support the company's strategic objectives. Team Management: Oversee and mentor a team of around 15 IT professionals, ensuring effective delivery of IT services and support across all locations. Technology & Infrastructure: Manage a complex IT environment, including around 100 systems, 250 software applications, cloud, and on-premise infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. Budget Management: Oversee an annual IT budget of £5 million. Identifying opportunities for cost savings would be beneficial. Service Management: Manage relationships with Managed Service Providers and telephony providers. Ensure high-quality service delivery and resolve any issues that arise. Performance Improvement: Improve system uptime from the current 95% to a target of 99%. Address and minimize outages, which currently average 4 hours. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating technical requirements into business language. Innovation & Transformation: Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions that align with the company's growth objectives. A background in start-ups or service industries is a plus. Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience as a Head of IT or IT Director, preferably within a start-up or service industry environment. Demonstrated ability to lead IT transformation projects and implement innovative technology solutions. Strong experience in managing large, complex IT environments with multiple systems, software applications, and service providers. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms. Solid understanding of both cloud and on-premise infrastructures, as well as infrastructure security. Experience managing a substantial IT budget, with a focus on cost efficiency and value creation.
