The Role We’re looking for skilled SRE engineers who will focus on improving the reliability and scalability of Joule Direct, a widely used energy trading platform. You will work across our cross-functional teams of software engineers, quality engineers and devops engineers to help drive systemic improvements to the reliability of our systems. Ideally you have many years of experience building and supporting large-scale software systems and you feel comfortable talking to infrastructure engineers about networking issues or kernel tuning as well as reporting .NET garbage collector bugs to Microsoft Responsibilities Help implement and maintain systems that track and alert on service level objectives Focus on improving reliability, performance and system availability Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments Help build effective deployment strategies to minimize or eliminate customer impact Collaborate with our Infrastructure teams Collaborate on design proposals (RFCs) from the engineering team, ensuring scalability and performance is taken into account Serve as a role model and help our teams follow SRE best-practices Mentor and coach other team members You Inquisitive nature, excellent communication and problem solving skills Empathetic team player. You build strong and effective relationships. Take a proactive approach to spotting problems and areas for improvement Can investigate through complex issues using a plethora of debugging tools as necessary Experience of at least one popular programming language, ideally C# Good understanding of the .Net runtime and low level system fundamentals like networks Our Tech Stack Our technology choices are always evolving but here are some of the tools we use today: C# running on .NET Core Azure DevOps Pipelines and AWS Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry Docker and Kubernetes If you are not an expert in these specific technologies but are familiar with an equivalent then we’re happy to train you.
