Job Description As a Translation Editor, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of translations by editing and proofreading translated documents, maintaining consistency in style, tone, and accuracy. You will work closely with translators, project managers, and other team members to deliver precise and polished content to our clients. Key Responsibilities: Edit and proofread translated texts to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to style and tone. Review translations for grammatical correctness, consistency, and cultural appropriateness. Utilize CAT tools (e.g., Trados Studio, XBench) to enhance editing and proofreading processes. Communicate effectively with project managers to resolve any linguistic issues and provide feedback. Maintain a high standard of written work with zero tolerance for errors. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively to meet tight deadlines. Explain complex linguistic nuances and provide guidance to team members from various backgrounds. Apply a keen understanding of style, tone, and register to ensure content meets client specifications. Stay calm under pressure and handle editorial tasks efficiently. Requirements: Educated to degree level (ideally in Translation Studies, Languages, or a related field). Native-level proficiency in Italian or Spanish, with strong oral and written English skills. Very good computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated ability to produce detailed and accurate work within tight deadlines. Excellent grammar knowledge and proofreading skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse teams and explain linguistic details effectively. Flawless writing skills with a strict attention to detail. Ability to focus on detailed work for extended periods. Experience with CAT tools (Trados Studio, XBench) is preferred. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus. Prior experience in a similar role within the language industry is an advantage. Desired Qualities: Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and stay composed under pressure. Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Bilingual proficiency in English is highly desirable.
