Clearance Required: Ability to Obtain a Secret Education Required: BA/BS US Citizenship: Required The MIL Corporation is seeking a part-time Senior Technical Writer/Editor (Technical Writer, Senior Analyst) to support multiple projects in the Rapid Engineering and Prototyping Solutions (REPS) Sector in Lexington Park, MD. This role involves developing, formatting, editing, and managing documentation for MLS aware software development, testing and delivery. This position may be eligible for some remote work depending on contract/client and hiring manager approval. Responsibilities Coordinate and communicate with engineers, technicians, and managers to produce high-quality, grammatically correct, and error-free documentation Create documentation deliverables including, but not limited to, requirements specifications, design documents, test plans/procedures/reports, scientific and technical reports, technical data packages, user manuals, operations and maintenance manuals, training materials, project briefings, and management plans Support the development of policy directives, guidebooks, program/project briefing materials, and correspondence Compile, review, and edit technical and administrative documentation Work closely with government clients and team members to ensure schedules and objectives are met and exceeded Travel Total travel is expected to be less than 10% Required Qualifications 5 years of technical writing/editing experience, including editing, preparation, and production of technical reports, presentation materials, and other related documentation Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, and Teams Proficiency with graphics editing software (e.g., Photoshop/GIMP) Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS-Project, One Pager Pro) related to artifact generation Demonstrated writing/editing skills with the ability to gather information from multiple sources, organize and synthesize the information into a clear point of view, and create a concise and well-written narrative Familiarity with governing standards and guidelines for preparing technical documentation. Effective oral and written communication skills with technical and management staff Desired Qualifications Technical writing experience within a DoD environment Experience with other documentation tools (e.g., LaTeX). Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., SVN). Education Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.
