Job Title: Data Services Manager Location: East Midlands (Hybrid - 50% Remote) Company Overview: Our client, a leading financial services organisation based in the East Midlands, is expanding its Data Team and is seeking an experienced Data Services Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to lead a dynamic team and drive the development and maintenance of robust data systems and services. Job Purpose: As the Data Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of data professionals to design, develop, and maintain data systems and services. This role requires a strong foundation in data governance, technical expertise, leadership abilities, and project management experience. Key Responsibilities: Develop and embed the organisation's Data Governance Strategy, along with associated policies and standards. Lead and mentor a team of data professionals to deliver high-quality data solutions on time and within budget. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritise tasks, and ensure successful project execution. Manage the entire data services lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment. Ensure the implementation of data standards, best practices, and security measures across all projects. Maintain and update documentation of design processes using core data principles. Oversee the development and support of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other internal data services. Regularly test and maintain controls in line with the organisation's risk appetite and governance frameworks. Manage data quality control and apply corrective measures as necessary. Job-Specific Competencies: Proven experience in Data Governance and Line Management. At least 2 years of experience as a DBA and Data Developer within the MS Stack. Strong technical skills in TSQL, SSIS, SSRS, SPROC, and Function development. Experience with MS SQL Server (2017), Visual Studio, MS 365, .Net, .Net 5, C#, WPF, ASP.Net, REST. Knowledge of emerging technologies such as Azure, MS Dynamics, Synapse, and experience with data warehousing. Familiarity with Snaplogic, ADF, or other middleware tools is advantageous.
