Role: Data Centre Technician Location: London, UK (occasional travel to EU may be required) Employment type: Permanent Salary: £36,000 - £44,000 (dependant on experience) bonus benefits A well-established provider of logistics, white glove, and technical services across Europe is looking to hire a motivated Data Centre Technician. With over 40 years of experience delivering specialist solutions to critical environments, they are known for setting high standards in safety, security, and reliability. Role Overview The successful candidate will play a key role in the installation and maintenance of network cabling, ensuring smooth operations within data centres. The role offers significant career progression potential, with full training and mentoring provided, leading to future supervisory or leadership positions. There will also be opportunities to work on large-scale projects and to travel to provide on-site support. Key Responsibilities Attend client sites punctually with all required equipment, uniform, PPE, and documentation. Install, test, and troubleshoot fibre and copper cabling. Use network troubleshooting tools such as VFLs, OTDRs, and power meters. Patch and dress cables in server racks, with training provided where necessary. Decommission IT equipment, including networks, servers, and storage devices. Follow all health, safety, and security procedures. Communicate promptly and clearly with internal teams regarding project progress and any issues. Complete daily checklists and reports on tasks performed. Candidate Requirements Previous experience installing structured cabling (fibre and copper). Knowledge of network technologies such as routers, switches, and cabling infrastructure. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Basic experience using hand and power tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Email). Valid driving licence and willingness to travel. English language proficiency at B1 level or above; additional European language skills are beneficial. Preferred Experience Experience working in data centre environments or within the logistics sector. Flexibility to handle changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
