TEC Energy is a data science company that uses big data to analyze and predict opportunities in the energy market. With data at the heart of our operations and decisions, our innovative approach combines our fundamental understanding of markets with different technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. We are looking for a backend developer with experience working with data pipelines and storage. You will be designing and implementing processes to import data used in the trading decision making process from a wide variety of sources. You will also be involved in the development and maintenance of custom internal applications. If you are looking to work collaboratively with a team of developers on a range of projects within a data driven company, we encourage you to apply Responsibilities Design and maintain ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) pipelines to clean, normalize, and enrich data for use by data scientists and traders Work on the development of multiple applications used by our Data Science and Trading teams Aid in the development and improvement of CI/CD infrastructure Actively participate in the resolution of technical problems and propose improvements to our existing solutions Collaborate with a team of developers in an Agile environment Ensure code quality by adhering to best development practices Provide technical support to our other teams Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Minimum of 1 year experience in data import and management (experience in the energy sector or financial markets is a plus) Minimum 1 year of experience in programming (C#, Python, SQL, Java, Node.js, etc.) Knowledge of ELT technologies, relational databases (PostgreSQL), as well as cloud computing and storage solutions (AWS Services) Experience with IaC or Infrastructure as Code is a plus (AWS CloudFormation and Cloud Development kit) Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other developers, data scientists, analysts & traders, and other stakeholders both in French and English Benefits Competitive remuneration and benefits package Professional development and growth opportunities Dynamic, collaborative, and inclusive work environment Modern office space in the heart of Montreal Social events and team activities This position is based in our Montreal offices at Place Ville-Marie.
