With an expected turnover of £50M in 2024, TBR has ambitious growth plans to reach over £100M in the next 5 years and to help achieve their goals TBR has created the new role of Head of Projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a new team and projects function from scratch. Once in place The Head of Projects will be responsible for the management and delivery of all projects within the organisation. This will include technology and operational-focused projects. This role involves ensuring the successful execution of projects by managing project teams, resources, budgets, and timelines. The Head of Projects works closely with senior management and key stakeholders to align project outcomes with TBR’s strategic objectives. There will be some hands-on project management involved as the team is built and developed. Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Project Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive project management strategy that aligns with TBR’s goals and objectives Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of a portfolio of projects, ensuring they meet the standards for quality, timelines, and budget Establish and enforce project management methodologies, standards, and best practices across the organisation Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage a team of project managers and other project staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the project management team Conduct regular performance evaluations, mentoring, and coaching to ensure continuous improvement within the team Resource Allocation and Management: Allocate resources efficiently across projects, ensuring optimal use of personnel, budgets, and materials Work closely with department heads and senior management to prioritise projects and allocate resources based on strategic importance Monitor and track resource utilisation and adjust as necessary to meet project demands Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related activities, communicating project status, risks, and issues to senior management and other stakeholders Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to review project progress, address concerns, and ensure alignment with business objectives Risk Management and Problem Resolution: Identify potential risks across projects and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project continuity and success Oversee the resolution of project issues, conflicts, and obstacles that may impact project outcomes Implement robust risk management practices to minimise the impact of unforeseen challenges on project delivery Financial Management and Budgeting: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within the approved financial parameters Monitor project costs and financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track project progress, quality, and success Prepare and present regular project performance reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, risks, and opportunities for improvement Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and identify areas for future improvement Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the project management function, encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices Lead initiatives to enhance project management processes, tools, and techniques Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging practices in project management, integrating relevant advancements into the organisation’s practices With a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on involvement, this fantastic role offers the chance to shape and develop a high-performing team and make a tangible impact on the organisation's growth and success.
