Software Engineer - GreenTech (Fully Remote)

Want to work as a Software Engineer for a Tech-for-Good company? The Company A science-led, not-for-profit membership organization managing a leading agricultural tool, empowering farmers and the supply chain to measure and report on agriculture’s environmental impact using standardized metrics for water, climate, and biodiversity. The tool is supported in 16 languages and used in over 140 countries. The Role You will develop and maintain core digital services, take ownership of technology, and drive the strategic development roadmap. Responsibilities include developing new features, optimizing AWS infrastructure, technical support, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners. Key Responsibilities Develop and integrate new features on a serverless AWS architecture. Collaborate on platform developments. Document processes and solutions. Optimize AWS services for cost and value. Provide technical support with external providers. Support the development of FAQs and guidance notes. Essential Criteria Experience with TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Next.js and/or React.js, AWS serverless solutions (e.g. SST), and AWS cloud-based architecture. Familiarity with AWS billing and cost management tools is highly desirable. Demonstrable experience with cloud-native technologies. Continuous learning mindset to research skills for new technologies. Ability to troubleshoot and fix bugs promptly. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Desirable Criteria Knowledge of CI/CD practices and Docker for containerisations. Vendor management experience. Analytical mindset for cost optimization. Experience with advanced AWS solutions and scientific models in Python. Strong documentation skills. Experience in environmental sustainability or related fields. Work Flexibility Fully Remote Salary £50,000 - £60,000
