We are excited to be working with a VC-backed startup looking to hire an exceptional Staff Frontend Engineer into their London office. Having raised a substantial Series B funding round from top investors, they’re now keen to bring in an experienced senior engineer to join - and help lead - a newly created squad within the wider engineering org. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager, becoming the most senior engineer in a small team of 3, ensuring all frontend components are accessible, performant and scaleable for the relevant product area. As Staff Frontend Engineer you will: Lead the design and development for frontend aspects for the team, identifying and driving innovation when necessary. Make significant code contributions to their system through their design and implementation, ensuring all code contributions are of high quality, performance, and adhere to coding standards. Serve as a technical authority and mentor for engineers within the team and the community of practice, providing guidance on best practices for software design, delivery, and scalability. Play a role in bringing together frontend engineers across the company to increase knowledge sharing, reduce complexity, and improve collaboration and connected thinking. We want to hear from you if: You have plenty of experience in designing and building commercial web applications, operating at a senior level for the last few years. You have previously built the complex front-end for web app product that allows users to edit audio and/or images. You are passionate about intuitive web UI/UX and take pride in owning the front end of the frontend. You have plenty of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, CSS and web fundamentals. Ideally Next.js too. You have worked in another scale-up business (Series B and beyond) with a strong engineering culture. You have an ability to understand and contribute towards software architecture and consider design decisions; you know what good looks like when it comes to building great software products. You are open-minded and a natural cross functional collaborator (design, dev, QA, backend, etc). Ready to share your thoughts on the web development ecosystem. What do they offer? Salary up to £100k / annum, dependent on experience. Stock options. Remote or Hybrid setup. They have an office in London but offer ultimate flexibility to suit your personal circumstances. 25 days annual leave public holidays. Enhanced parental leave policy. Pension contribution.
