Senior C#/.NET Developer (Excel Plugin and WinForms Focus)

Our Challenge: We are seeking a skilled Senior C#/.NET Developer with extensive experience in developing WinForms applications on the .NET Framework. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in C# and be comfortable working with .NET Core/ASP.NET applications as well, particularly when integrating with RESTful APIs. Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks like ReactJS or Angular is considered a plus. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions for our clients. Additional Information The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON $110k-$130k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications using C# and the .NET Framework, primarily focused on WinForms. Collaborate with team members to create and integrate RESTful APIs using .NET Core or ASP.NET, ensuring seamless data flow between front-end and back-end systems. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on best practices in C# programming, WinForms development, and application architecture. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product management and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications. Collaborate with front-end developers to create cohesive and user-friendly interfaces. Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks in applications and implement solutions to enhance performance and user experience. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, advocating for improvements and modernization of the application stack. Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability and stability of applications. Participate in the testing process, ensuring that applications meet quality standards and user expectations. Requirements: You are: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. 8 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on C# and the .NET Framework, particularly with WinForms applications. Proficient in .NET Core and ASP.NET; experience with RESTful API development is a plus. Familiarity with front-end frameworks like ReactJS or Angular is desirable. Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. It would be great if you also had: Experience with database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (Entity Framework). Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, TFS) and CI/CD practices.
