As one of the center points of SPG’s consulting team, the Energy Team Director represents the face of SPG’s core services. You will lead and inspire a team of 15-50 skilled energy professionals, delivering cutting-edge energy consulting products. Your role is pivotal to ensuring the success of our team; from strategic oversight, team management, process development, and maintaining project excellence and client satisfaction. Overview of Tasks: 1. Team Leadership and Development: Oversee the consulting team, ensuring optimal structure, capacity, and alignment with business goals Cultivate a high-performance culture by maintaining team morale, providing direction, and promoting growth opportunities Recruit, retain, and develop top-tier talent to support the team’s steady (and growing) deliverables Foster an environment that embodies our values (outlined below) 2. Product and Project Excellence: Manage the team’s overall output, ensuring high-quality project deliverables Provide high-level management oversight for the entire team, including stepping up to provide both key deliverable project management and team structure project management, as needed Maintain rigorous project quality standards and financial performance Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery and innovative solutions Stay updated on emerging technologies relevant to your team, evaluate new systems for potential deployment internally and externally 3. Client Strategy and Satisfaction Develop and implement client strategies to build lasting relationships and ensure client satisfaction and repeat services Actively manage key client relationships, aligning our expertise with their needs to exceed expectations Fostering the development of relationships directly between clients and each and every member of your team, while providing client management training and direction to staff as they grow into competent and confidence consultants 4. Operational and Strategic Oversight Develop business plans, budgets, and financial forecasts Forecast capacity, workload, and resource needs, presenting actionable insights to the Leadership Team Align team operations with organizational strategy and collaborate across company groups Execute strategy, communications, and change management plans org-wide (relevant to responsible area) Continuously refine processes to improve efficiency, collaboration, and results Act as a liaison between your team, SPG’s teams, and clients and facilitate clear communication channels among all parties involved What We’re Looking For: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and guide teams. Most show proven experience managing and training other managers (5 years). Proven experience leading and scaling consulting teams, preferably in energy, engineering, or related fields Experience updating and constantly improving the team’s processes and relevant support tools Program management expertise overseeing multiple project managers and a track record of delivering successful client outcomes Business acumen on internal project delivery – experience developing business plans, budgets, and change management plans as well as executing and adhering to them Financial acumen on client project delivery - manage project budgets and drive profitability Strategic thinker with the ability to forecast, plan, and collaborate effectively with leadership Exceptional communication skills, embodying a collaborative and client-focused approach Relevant technical expertise is beneficial but not a requirement – Understanding of energy audits, ESG frameworks, and the capital planning process Open for travel as necessary SPG’s Core Values and how they relate to this Role: Hustle with Heart - We get shit done, because we care.
