The NI Executives Energy Strategy, published in December 2021, outlined a vision for net zero carbon and affordable energy with interim targets in 2030 of a 56% reduction in our energy-related emissions and 70% electricity consumption from renewable sources, on the pathway to achieve net zero by 2050. SIB is seeking to recruit a dynamic leader who will be at the forefront of DfEs duty to meet the 80% Project Director will drive the implementation of the Renewable Electricity Support Scheme and develop a strategic framework and associated plans for all other workstreams that will enable successful delivery of the scheme and in turn the 80% by 2030 target. From the outset, the Project Director will provide significant practical and strategic leadership in developing and delivering plans and work closely with senior leaders in DfEs Energy Group and develop and maintain effective relationships with: Multiple departments across central and local government The Utility Regulator and regulated businesses, SONI and NIEN Other relevant industry bodies The post will require strong leadership, communications, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
