If so, this is the opportunity for you As an AI Computer Vision Engineer at SMT, you will participate in the development of complex software and hardware systems to support current and future products and technologies. You will collaborate with our Business Development, Engineering, and Operations teams to define requests for new functionality in SMT's core software platform and resolve issues that arise. This is where your problem-solving expertise can truly shine. As part of a close-knit team, you will collaborate directly with our Corporate Vice President of Research & Development, as well as the Director of Core Technologies and Senior Software Architect, to change the game by implementing new core technologies across sports like football, soccer, hockey, motorsports and more. What is Your Daily Impact at SMT? You will work together with the Research & Development team, including fellow AI Computer Vision Engineers, to drive software design and development that best utilizes SMT's software and hardware platforms. Leadership will trust you to work independently on platform software development or new core technologies. As an "Engineer of Last Resort," you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various SMT groups to diagnose and solve complex issues. You will dive deep into the research, design, and prototyping stages of developing new technologies. You will collaborate with Product Development to transition new technologies into SMT products. Get hands-on experience designing, developing, and analyzing system benchmarks. Proactively investigate new hardware devices, software tools, and industry best practices for use across all SMT departments. Develop a thorough understanding and expertise with all SMT software platforms and products, continually seeking to optimize their execution on SMT's hardware systems. What Do You Bring to SMT? A Master's of Science degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or a bachelor's degree with comparable industry experience. 2 years of research or industry experience in using AI for image processing, machine learning operations, 3D rendering, camera calibration, image-based tracking, and numerical computing. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience coding and analyzing multi-threaded C++ applications in a Windows environment. A fundamental understanding of major sports and their concepts. Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written. A self-motivated mindset with strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills to meet project deadlines. The ability to independently research and respond to technical questions and issues, with a knack for offering creative solutions to complex problems in a practical, timely, and efficient manner. Familiarity with Microsoft's Visual Studio tools and common revision control and unit testing tools. A commitment to proactively communicate status updates and complete deliverables on schedule. Eagerness to quickly learn new concepts, industry trends, and technologies. Willingness to travel to live events for research purposes. What Can SMT Offer You?
