Job Title: Solutions Architect (Cloud & Infrastructure) Location: Hybrid (Remote & Ad Hoc Leeds) Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (DOE) Package Includes: Flexible Working 26 days annual leave bank holidays (option to buy or sell up to 5 days) Bonus Scheme (15% based on your performance and contribution) Pension & Health Benefits (3% employer contribution a range of flexible benefits including additional life assurance, critical illness cover, and more) Global Working (work from anywhere in the world for up to 90 days) Overview: A well-known UK organisation is looking for a dynamic Cloud & Infrastructure Architect to lead and drive architecture and design governance across their Microsoft estate, Azure Cloud, On-Premises Infrastructure, and Cloud Networking Domains. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the cloud and infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with the enterprise architecture vision, and providing technical leadership across a range of initiatives. If you have a strong design background, strategic foresight, and are eager to influence the future of IT at a leading UK organisation, this might be the role for you Key Responsibilities: Architecture & Design Governance: Provide architectural leadership and governance across our Microsoft estate, Azure Cloud, On-Premises Infrastructure, and Cloud Networking Domains. Oversee the architectural design process, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with enterprise strategies. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including technical teams, suppliers, and partners, to translate business needs into effective architectural solutions. Collaborate on change initiatives and provide governance to ensure adherence to best practices. Future-Focused Strategy: Play a critical role in developing short, medium, and long-term infrastructure and cloud strategies that align with business objectives. This includes evaluating new technologies and guiding the transition to modern, cloud-based solutions. Technical Leadership: Advocate for and drive the adoption of best practices in cloud architecture, ensuring consistency and quality across the enterprise. Provide expertise on performance, scalability, reliability, and operational concerns in both on-premises and cloud environments. Project Support: Support various programmes and projects with your deep technical knowledge, particularly in areas not currently covered by the existing architecture team. This includes providing design governance for change initiatives and ensuring solutions are delivered in line with enterprise architecture standards. Vendor & Partner Engagement: Engage with third-party entities through RFI/RFP processes, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and strategic goals. Manage relationships with managed service providers (MSPs) to ensure successful design and implementation of solutions. Essential Experience & Skills: Design Expertise: Strong emphasis on architectural design skills, particularly within Microsoft Azure and related technologies. Experience in design governance is critical to this role. Microsoft & Azure Expertise: 4 years of experience working with Microsoft technologies and Azure cloud at an enterprise level. Proficiency in O365 technologies such as SharePoint, Exchange, and on-premises infrastructure like Active Directory, DNS, and VMware. Hybrid Cloud Experience: Deep understanding of hybrid cloud environments, with the ability to navigate and integrate on-premises and cloud-based networks. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop forward-looking cloud and infrastructure strategies that align with business goals. Technical Certifications: Relevant certifications in Azure or Microsoft technologies, or equivalent professional experience, are highly desirable. Understanding of virtualization technologies and cloud architecture patterns is essential.
