Lead Azure DevOps Engineer

SPG Resourcing have partnered with a managed service provider to support them with hiring a number of DevOps Engineers. As a Lead DevOps engineer, you will take joint ownership of a cloud platform and the DevOps tools that support the efficient definition, delivery, and operability of our cloud infrastructure and applications. Your Role: You will be the source of expertise on designing, managing, and deploying cloud infrastructure and resources based on automation through code. This includes, but is not limited to source code management, CI/CD, configuration management, software package management, monitoring, and governance to embed security and compliance. Key responsibilities can include: Along with the HoE, define and own the strategy and plan to set up an internal DevOps facility for the UK Business (currently outsourced). In conjunction with the Lead Solution Architect and the Head of Engineering define and own the UK DevOps strategy for the delivery and maintenance of the long term architectural landscape. On board and line manage a small team of 1-2 engineers and oversee additional 3rd party resources assigned as ‘burst-capacity’ as necessary. Ensure that the UK business unit’s adoption of tools and infrastructure remain current. Qualifications (essentials): In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Azure Cloud Windows and Linux System Administration experience including scripting and automating day to day SysAdmin and DevOps tasks Demonstrable experience in the design , principle ownership , setup and management of build / automation pipelines and tools (e.g. Terraform, Puppet, ADO) Nice to haves: An understanding of the following tools - Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM, Azure DevOps, ruby, Docker and Kubernetes.
