Full-Stack Developer (Low-Code / Mendix) Our client is one of the largest wholesale insurance brokerage firms in the United States, specializing in excess and surplus (E&S) lines. Founded over 40 years ago, they provide access to specialty insurance markets that standard carriers typically don’t cover. With more than 400 employees and 20 offices nationwide, they’ve built a reputation for deep industry expertise, professionalism, and low employee turnover. Their technology team plays a critical role in supporting their position as an industry leader, building and maintaining a custom suite of enterprise applications that power policy processing, payments, reporting, and more. As part of their continued investment in technology, they are expanding their remote Canadian team to accelerate development and enhance internal systems. Role Overview This is a full-stack developer role on a small, high-performing team. The right candidate will have a strong technical foundation, good problem-solving instincts, and experience building end-to-end features—not just maintaining existing systems. This role involves working on a Mendix-based platform, but Mendix experience is not required. Candidates with strong JavaScript, Java, and REST API knowledge will ramp up quickly. Responsibilities Design and implement application features across the stack Collaborate in an agile environment on product enhancements and new feature development Design, consume, and optimize REST APIs Contribute to the planning, refinement, and testing of new functionality Work independently on feature ownership, with guidance and mentorship from the team Must-Have Qualifications 5 to 8 years of full-stack development experience Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Strong hands-on knowledge of Java, Javascript, and CSS Experience and/or willingness to work on low code systems like Mendix, OutSystems or Appian Mendix Intermediate Developer Certification (or willingness to obtain on the job) Understanding of object-oriented programming, REST API design, and relational databases SQL Server experience Comfortable working with legacy systems Experience with Microsoft Graph APIs is nice to have What We Offer Work on mission-critical enterprise software in a stable, forward-thinking company Join a collaborative, diverse, and experienced development team Engage with ongoing feature development and product innovation, including AI initiatives Flexible remote schedule, solid work-life balance, and supportive leadership Location: Remote (Canada-based) Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000 CAD discretionary bonus (5%) Comprehensive health benefits 15 days of PTO 5 Sick Days Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
