Russell Tobin is seeking a Quality Engineer for an American multinational conglomerate operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, healthcare, and consumer goods.


Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Maplewood, MN

Job Type: Contract

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Length: 12-Months

Hours: 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $28.50 per hour


Overview:

  • Works with moderate work direction, and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving.
  • Provides design assistance for moderately complex engineering assignments including products, parts, components, or portions of major projects.
  • Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices.
  • May perform research to solve specific design problems.


Description:

As a Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving existing product quality enhancement through use of continuous improvement methods and tools, such as: Six Sigma, Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Design of Experiments (DOE), Customer Quality Index (CQI) and Quality at the Source
  • Supporting and interacting with customers through complaint investigations, resolution, and trending
  • Ensuring the commercialized product design intent and product integrity is retained as materials, processes, methods, and specifications change
  • Supporting change as it relates to design changes inspired by quality improvement, source of supply changes, or cost reduction efforts
  • Supporting New Product Introductions (NPI) through product and process validations, test method development, and risk management


Your Skills and Expertise:

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Company requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND four (4) years of medical device Quality Engineering experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED from AND (8) years of medical device Quality Engineering experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • 2 years of Quality Engineering experience in medical devices
  • 2 years of experience applying requirements of ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 in a Quality Engineering or regulatory role


Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience planning and executing Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) projects in a medical device environment
  • Experience analyzing data for trends, special causes, and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Experience with facilitating PFMECA or DFMECA development
  • Experience creating and maintaining Risk Management files for medical devices
  • Experience analyzing data for trends, special causes, and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Experience as a manufacturing or quality engineer in a medical device manufacturing facility
