Cabling Installation Engineer, Reading Roc Technologies is one of the UK’s fastest growing and capable Transformation Services Providers and we empower organisations in the public and private sectors to accelerate business and technology change. We are looking for a Cabling Installation Engineer to work as part of the installation team carrying out works detailed below to deliver customer projects at our client site based in Reading (RG7). Core responsibilities Network cabinet installations Primary and secondary containment system installations Installation of Cat6 or Cat6A horizontal cabling solutions Termination, Testing & labelling of Cat6 / Cat6A solutions Network switch installation Copper patching Requirements Experience of terminating copper cabling (Category 5e, category 6 etc) Experience of testing both fibre optic and copper cables using Fluke Testers Good working knowledge of current installation practices Experience in the installation of containment systems (both Steel and PVC) Knowledge of OTDR testing would be an advantage. Focused and able to work within a team and independently. Good communication skills Eligible for SC clearance Working pattern: You will be working a 75-hour fortnight (over 9 days) Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:30 (both weeks), working Friday 07:30 to 14:30 (week 1), and non-working Friday off (week 2).
