Position overview: We are looking for a skilled and dynamic Windows Administrator Team Lead to manage a team responsible for Windows systems administration. This position blends technical expertise with leadership duties to maintain the reliability, security, and efficiency of the Windows server environment. The ideal candidate will foster operational excellence, guide team members, and work closely with IT leadership to ensure system alignment with business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Technical: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server environments. Ensure system reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization. Maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss. Coordinate patch management, updates, and security measures to protect systems from vulnerabilities. Administer virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware, SimpliVity, Citrix) and cloud services (e.g., Azure AD, Microsoft 365). Collaborative Duties: Work with IT teams, including network, security, database, and application teams, to design and implement integrated IT solutions. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures, documentation, and best practices. Evaluate emerging technologies and propose enhancements to improve infrastructure efficiency and scalability. Participate in budget planning for hardware, software, and team resources. Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Windows administrators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor team performance to ensure timely project delivery and support. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training opportunities for team members. Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and ensure effective resolution. Requirements: Mandatory Technical Skills: Strong expertise in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy management. Knowledge of Active Directory (domain controllers, user accounts, group policies, security settings). Solid understanding of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and IT security best practices. Scripting skills using Powershell Hands-on experience with virtualization environments. Familiarity with email and messaging systems. Strong knowledge of IT security. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in Windows system administration, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience in IT service delivery in a global, multicultural environment. Background in the banking sector, particularly in investment banking, is a plus. Other Requirements: Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a technical team. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Bilingual French and English Hybrid setup with 3 days on-site per week Candidate must be located or willing to relocate in Montreal
