Salary Range: up to £42,000 dependent on experience Location: hybrid role based in Bracknell, RG12 1LP Role type: permanent, full-time position We are looking for an experienced, proactive and dynamic Systems Administrator to join our in-house IT team of three. Your primary responsibilities will be to maintain our network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls and cloud-hosted infrastructure, as well as manage our database systems and servers (both bare metal and virtual). Being part of a rapidly growing SME no two days are the same, so you must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to provide internal help desk support to roughly 200 stakeholders. In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and security of our systems, supporting ongoing projects and providing technical training to team members. Main Objectives of the role: maintain, configure and ensure the reliable operation of computer systems, servers, networks, and virtualisation collaborate with the development and IT team to support ongoing projects and initiatives design and maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures and protocols perform regular security audits and risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing necessary patches and updates administer the Azure and Microsoft 365 environments provide technical support and training to colleagues and other end-users Do you have what it takes? minimum three years experience in providing IT support and administering IT systems proven systems management expertise in managing and maintaining virtual environments, servers and operating systems (Windows, Linux etc.) understanding of networking management and concepts such as TCP/ IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls demonstrated proficiency in managing cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS extensive experience with the Microsoft 365 platform, including: Active Directory: user and group management, policies and permissions SharePoint: site administration, content management and permissions Microsoft Intune: device management, application deployment and security policies Exchange: mailbox management, email flow and security Security and compliance: manage and improve security and compliance posture proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Red Hat Linux systems, as well as experience with containerization technologies (such as Docker or Kubernetes), is essential experience supporting development teams using tools such as Docker, Jenkins and Grafana ability to perform security audits, manage firewalls and implement necessary patches and updates data protection knowledge and experience is highly desirable understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in IT security and data protection strong ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network issues efficiently capacity to address unexpected technical challenges and adapt to rapidly changing technology environments capability to create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and protocols a knack for identifying areas for efficiency improvements and implementing better workflows and systems strong communication skills to provide clear, concise support to non-technical stakeholders and to collaborate with other IT professionals ability to train colleagues on new systems, software and processes What's on offer? 23 days of holiday per year, excluding Bank Holidays ( get more days with length of service) up to £2,000 reward for successful recommendations?as part of our referral scheme pension contribution scheme significant savings on daily shopping through our benefits portal a welcoming office, snacks, beverages, friendly colleagues and team socials throughout the year a supportive culture and a great team with exceptional talent and experience trained Mental Health First Aiders support annual training budget so you can focus on your personal and professional development and much more?
