We are seeking an experienced and proactive AV Support Technician to join a brilliant client of ours in the educational sector on a contract basis. The Role As an AV Support Technician, you will provide comprehensive AV and IT support to staff and students. You will assist in setting up, operating, and maintaining AV equipment, ensuring smooth operations for lectures, events, and other academic activities. Your technical expertise will be crucial in diagnosing and resolving issues, managing AV systems, and supporting both live and studio environments. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate AV equipment for lectures, events, and studio recordings, ensuring seamless media production and delivery. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AV systems, working within agreed timelines using IT Service Management tools. Maintain and service AV and IT equipment across the campus, ensuring all teaching spaces are fully functional. Assist in editing and processing audio-visual content, including archiving media using digital tools. Support project delivery, contributing to system designs, costing, deployment, and testing of AV and IT installations. Collaborate effectively with academic staff, students, and internal teams, providing professional support and guidance. Ensure compliance with data protection laws and university policies. What We’re Looking For We are searching for a candidate with a balance of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills, someone who can quickly adapt to changing environments and technology. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing 1st and 2nd tier IT or AV support, ideally within an academic setting. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Educated to A-level or equivalent, or have relevant experience in IT or AV support. Proficiency in AV hardware/software and experience with operating systems like Windows, Mac OS, or Linux. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in both hardware and software environments. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining excellent organizational and communication skills. Desirable Skills & Certifications: ITIL Foundation (Version 3 or later) certification. AV-specific certifications such as Infocomm CTS or AV Control Systems Programming qualifications. Knowledge of IT networking and experience with IT Service Management systems. Why Join Us?
