New Value Solutions , a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Privacy Analyst to support the Privacy and Security Threat Risk Assessment (PIA/STRA) initiatives for multiple digital health technology implementations at the New St. Paul’s Hospital and Health Campus (NSPH) project in Vancouver, BC. This is a remote-friendly, contract-based opportunity for a seasoned consultant to contribute to the privacy and security compliance efforts across a range of innovative healthcare technology systems. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) for eight distinct technology projects, including RTLS, Integration Engine, Digital Room Display, Intercom, Intrusion Detection, IP Video Surveillance, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), and Digital Wayfinding. Evaluate and analyze each project's privacy approach, privacy controls, and applicable legislative environments. Identify privacy-related risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Prepare completed PIAs using PHC-approved templates, ready for approval by PHC’s Privacy Director and system owners. Complete initial Security Threat Risk Assessment (STRA) intake forms for review by PHSA IMITS. Where full STRAs are required, conduct comprehensive security assessments, analyzing network setup, policy compliance, and risk mitigation strategies. Deliver final STRAs on PHC-approved templates to inform Statements of Assumed Risk (SoAR) for signoff. Collaborate closely with both the Privacy and Security teams within PHSA and PHC, adhering to timelines and working in Pacific Time. Requirements: Minimum 8 years of directly related experience in privacy and security assessments, with proven expertise in PIA and STRA development. Strong knowledge of BC healthcare structure and operations. Experience working with Providence Health Care’s privacy team and PHSA’s security teams. Advanced understanding of security standards, policies, and network architecture in clinical environments. Experience working on complex healthcare technology projects, including those involving patient data and digital systems. Must be able to work in Canada; preference will be given to candidates with prior BC Health Authority experience. Ability to work independently and deliver results within the 2025 calendar year.
