Job Summary: Responsible for assessing, defining and championing the IT architecture strategies, principles, policies and standards in alignment with the IT strategy and governing their use; coordinates with project teams to create, document, assess and/or validate the application and infrastructure solution designs for specific systems. Manager’s notes- This person will support the Supply Chain related initiatives at Cummins. Looking for someone who has substantial experience in MES Systems, ERP Systems (Oracle will be nice to have but other equivalent ERPs is also acceptable). Must have Supply Chain and Manufacturing related project experience and understand such modules in an ERP system such as Order Management, Purchasing, WMS, Transportation and Logistics Management. Looking for someone with 15-20 years of total experience with at least 5 years of very relevant supply chain and manufacturing experience. The team will be looking for a person who has demonstrated an understanding of BI systems, Data Management systems, and Integrations of ERP with other systems. Ideal candidate would have been a Software Engineer at some stage in their career. The person in this role will be responsible for strategies and road maps as related to the architecture for the Supply Chain IT infrastructure. Should be able to do Application Rationalization, deliver Capability Roadmaps and provide strategic vision on all components of the ERP as related to the Supply Chain management. This will be an individual contributor role with the possibility of having two reports upon conversion to full time employment if offered. Leads the analysis of the technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Creates project and technology roadmaps and define migration plans to mitigate the gaps between the current and future state. Develops standards for the specific function or technology domain and defines design patterns and configurations that can be reused as building blocks for other solutions. Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to manage change and guide solution decisions for the enterprise. Ensures coherence and completeness across all Cummins Technology Reference Model (CTRM) disciplines. Maintains positive relationships with IT and business leaders to effectively promote and communicate IT architecture value proposition. Collaborates with IT stakeholders to apply IT strategy to architecture future state architecture and develops roadmaps to realize future state. Defines and ensures effective metrics to measure standards adoption, reuse, and demonstrate value. Maintain knowledge of emerging technology and software trends focused on driving comparative advantage for CMI. Cultivates strong relationships with industry experts; participates and may present at conferences and round tables. Performs complex cost/benefit analysis when researching future state capabilities. Coaches and mentors less senior Architects. Collaborates with project teams to understand requested capabilities and recommends the right set of technologies to meet the needs. Provides infrastructure capacity recommendations for new applications and systems. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required. Experience: Significant relevant experience required. 15-20 years of total experience with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position The role will provide strategic consultation and act as a business partner to support the Supply Chain Function in defining or designing business processes, functions, as well as in researching, identifying technologies based on customer requirements. Participate in enterprise architecture development, including business architecture, information architecture, application portfolio and technical architecture. Skills needed for this role is past experience with supply chain, logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing related IT projects. The candidate is expected to understand the application architecting paradigm for a digital platform across multiple domains; significant knowledge about master data management and integration methodologies. Additional skills like services oriented architecture, standard APIs, web services, information management, and cyber security will be a definite advantage
