Job details

Our client is a leading, innovative, data centre owner-operator, who offer colocation and cloud services to diverse businesses and hyperscalers globally. Sustainability is at the heart of their business, with the majority of their operations powered by renewable energy. They are making significant investment into new data centre capacity and are growing rapidly (both people and facilities) and are now looking to hire a project manager to join their team in London. As an integral part of the PMO team, you will help to manage a broad range of projects focussed on the design and construction of new facilities and the upgrade and expansion of existing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative, and inclusive environment, working alongside a talented and ambitious international team. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the Head of Project Management to plan, coordinate, and manage the full project lifecycle for data centre initiatives. Lead the development of project scope, objectives, and key deliverables, ensuring alignment with both client and internal expectations. Oversee project schedules, resource allocation, and budget adherence, adjusting plans as needed to keep projects on track. Manage project documentation, including detailed project plans, risk assessments, change logs, and progress reports for executive stakeholders. Coordinate and facilitate collaboration between internal teams (engineering, IT, operations) and external vendors to ensure all project requirements are fulfilled. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing contingency plans as required. Track and manage resources, ensuring optimal allocation of personnel, equipment, and materials to meet project needs. Organise and lead regular project meetings, preparing agendas, documenting key decisions and action items, and ensuring follow-up. Provide consistent communication to stakeholders, delivering detailed project updates and addressing any concerns or escalations promptly. Ensure all projects comply with company policies, industry regulations, and data centre best practices, particularly around security and efficiency. Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance tracking, and issue resolution. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO, identifying ways to streamline project delivery processes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project tracking systems and dashboards, ensuring visibility for senior leadership. Conduct post-project evaluations, documenting lessons learned and making recommendations for future projects. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, IT, or a related field. 5 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record in data centre construction. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMI, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification highly preferred). Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-budget projects with multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with a strong focus on stakeholder management. Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Asana, or similar. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage risk and handle issues efficiently. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
