Job Description Management Science Associates, Inc. of Tarentum, PA, seeks a Software Engineer for a fully remote position, employee can work from anywhere in the United States, to develop scalable streaming solutions based on Apache Spark and Kafka using Scala and Java. Develop scalable streaming solutions based on Apache Spark and Apache Kafka using Scala and Java (20%). Design, architect, optimize, and refactor code to maximize performance (10%). Support existing programs and modules from both debugging and enhancement perspectives (25%). Participate in code reviews and extensive unit testing (20%). Write technical documents as part of established methodology (5%). Work closely with Q/A team and internal users (20%). This is a fully remote position, employee can work from anywhere in the United States. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or MIS required. Two years of software engineer experience required. Some experience with Spark and Scala; Hive and HBase Hadoop data stores and formats; REST-based web development; and SQL and RDBMS technologies required.
