HEAD OF COMPLIANCE- UK&I Location: Greater London/Essex area (hybrid 3 days per week on-site) Overview We are seeking a dynamic, confident, and collaborative leader to manage our client’s regional governance, risk, and compliance framework. As Head of Compliance – UK & Ireland , you will play a pivotal role in shaping decision-making processes, ensuring operational integrity, and fostering a culture of compliance. You will directly manage and inspire a team of three compliance managers, driving best practices and delivering exceptional results. RESPONSIBILITIES Enhance the UK & Ireland Compliance Framework- Strengthen compliance processes across all departments and subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with both local and global standards. Strategic Leadership & Operational Oversight- Combine hands-on operational expertise with high-level strategic direction to effectively manage compliance risks and drive organisational excellence. Support Regional and Global Initiatives- Collaborate with the European and Global Chief Compliance Officers to implement strategies that embed a culture of compliance and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations. Governance, Risk, and Compliance Assessments- Conduct thorough GRC assessments, leveraging data analytics and monitoring tools to oversee compliance performance and take corrective action when necessary. Policy Updates & Risk Mitigation- Continuously refine internal policies and implement measures to minimise risks and enhance organisational resilience. Leadership Representation- Act as the face of the UK & Ireland compliance system during executive meetings, delivering expert insights, strategic planning, budget management, KPI reports, and presentations on key ideas. Digital Compliance Systems Management- Oversee digital compliance platforms, collaborating with IT and other teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of tools such as Power BI, Navex IRM, and MS365. YOUR PROFILE Education: Advanced degree in law (Master’s, LLM, or Juris Doctor). Experience: A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in compliance management, with significant in-house experience. At least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably within the life sciences, medical, or pharmaceutical sector, or with deep sector knowledge. Core Competencies: Exceptional communication, presentation, and project management skills. Proven ability to produce high-quality formal and sensitive documentation in excellent professional English.
