The Role: As a Java Developer, you'll join a talented and professional engineering team, collectively responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems and services for our SaaS web applications. Working across multiple applications that serve the needs of our business customers, their users and our internal support teams, you will liaise with all parties as needed to deliver stable, secure and scalable product enhancements. You will be a strong team player, able to overcome obstacles on your own, but also add value to the team by bringing knowledge and support to those around you. Comfortable to make decisions when needed and able to communicate with business departments and stakeholders to understand requirements, provide updates and identify resolutions. Responsibilities: Work with the Lead Java Developer and wider team to design, build, test and implement new features using Java/Spring Boot and PostgreSQL/Mongo Produce high quality, maintainable code Participate in peer reviewing for quality of the code and knowledge sharing/gathering Ensure unit testing as standard to ensure high quality of the code being produced Create documentation for future reference and support Work to an Agile methodology to deliver new features and maintain the existing codebase Required Skills: Java (17) and Spring Boot (2.7 – 3.3) for RESTful services, security and scheduled tasks SQL (Postgres) Git feature-branch workflow Maven Intellij AWS Mongo MQ (Apache) Problem solving abilities Junit, Mockito Good To Haves: Payment provider integration experience with the likes of PayPal or GoCardless.
