Opportunity The CWB Group is seeking a candidate to join the Board of Directors for its not-for-profit Board and its wholly owned for-profit subsidiary. This paid position will collaborate with 11 other board members to provide governance oversight and strategic direction as the organization executes an ambitious, growth-oriented strategy. Ideal Candidate Profile: CWB uses a skills matrix to identify the optimal mix of skills on the board. The current search is focused on applicants with expertise in Human Resources and Digital Insights. A broader range of desired skills and experiences for the successful candidate, based in Canada or the United States, follow: Strategic Expertise: Proven experience in strategic planning, including oversight of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and market growth strategies, or other leadership roles that require innovative problem solving. Human Capital Oversight: Experience in human capital management and workforce development. Financial Acumen: Strong financial expertise, or equivalent experience in financial management and governance. A professional designation would be an asset. Governance Proficiency: Experience with corporate governance best practices and a demonstrated ability to contribute to an inclusive and collaborative board environment. ICD designation and/or a commitment to on-going learning is desirable. Digital and Cybersecurity Insight: Solid understanding in digital technologies, such as AI, and cybersecurity risk mitigation. Global Market Experience: Strategic leadership experience in the U.S. and Asian markets is highly desirable. Education and Training Expertise: Background in adult professional education, development and technical training (in-person, online, and hybrid) with a focus on creating accessible and inclusive learning environments is a strong asset. Industry-Specific Leadership: Senior leadership experience in CWB client sectors such as infrastructure, pipelines, transportation, defense, or emerging energy is an asset. Cultural Competency: Lived experience working with or advocating for diverse communities is an asset.
