Your Greatest Work Awaits Leidos' Defense Systems Land Systems division is on the lookout for a skilled Software Developer to contribute to exciting missile defense projects within the BMD Simulations and Analysis Portfolio. In this role, you will support Agile Software Development processes and contribute to achieving critical program objectives that enhance our nation's defense. You will be involved in the development, creation, and modification of software applications while also analyzing user needs to provide effective solutions. Submit Your Resume Today Key Responsibilities: Engage in high-level software development tasks using C++, Java, or equivalent languages including design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging. Collaborate with program experts and the user community to analyze, design, and enhance existing software systems. Apply sound software engineering principles to develop code that is efficient, reliable, comprehensible, fault-tolerant, and reusable while ensuring proper software process management throughout. Create and manage automated software builds and pipelines in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment. Actively participate in team activities such as program increment planning, feature and story development, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and more. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in C++ or Java programming languages. Experience with GitLab/Git for software configuration management. Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system. Skilled in programming network connections, including message generation, formatting, UDP, and TCP/IP interfaces. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to effectively present information. Must hold an active secret clearance. This position requires full-time onsite support. Residency in the North Alabama area is required. Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of Agile methodologies, especially the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and their application in a technical environment. Experience in developing and/or supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools like Ansible or Jenkins. Familiarity with programming in Python or Java, specifically regarding user interfaces. Proficient with Jira or similar tools for issue tracking and agile project management. Experience with multi-core and multi-threaded programming techniques. Relevant DoD and/or industry experience in missile defense projects. Pay Range: $85,150.00 - $153,925.00 This pay range is a general guideline and does not guarantee compensation.
