Leidos is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on designing, migrating, implementing, enhancing, optimizing, and maintaining network infrastructure. In this role, you will leverage independent judgment and innovative thinking to provide effective solutions. Responsibilities include installations, upgrades, and support problem resolution, along with designing, installing, configuring, and supporting LAN/WAN and other data communication systems. Your contributions will help ensure network hardware and software are maintained effectively, monitoring network availability for all system users while performing necessary maintenance tasks to support network uptime. You will also be involved in the design, documentation, factory testing, and integration of IP/MPLS based LAN/WAN network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Develop technical solutions for complex issues requiring deep technical expertise Participate in creating innovative network designs Assess and document network management architecture Utilize diverse data sources to diagnose issues and inform solutions Employ strong technical skills with network monitoring tools and conduct analyses of network data Evaluate network service requests and adeptly manage unique inquiries Analyze current and future network infrastructure to recommend solutions Engage in network hardware and software testing, implementation, integration, and management Create and maintain comprehensive network infrastructure documentation Support network refresh initiatives Perform Tier-3 and Tier-4 level network troubleshooting Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Ability to fulfill a government-administered high-risk role screening Master's degree with 15 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (ISR/ASR series, Cat-93xx, 38xx, etc., ASAs/Nex-Gen) Experience configuring Juniper SRX firewalls for security boundary protection Skilled in configuring site-to-site IPSec VPN tunnels on Cisco and Juniper platforms Hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 configurations, focusing on dynamic routing protocols like OSPF and BGP Solid understanding of VLANs, 802.1q trunking, Rapid Spanning-tree (RSTP), and BPDU guard Familiarity with cloud environments and vendors such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Experience with data center infrastructures using Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches Hands-on experience with network monitoring and performance tools such as SYSLOG, SNMP, and Solarwinds Knowledge of network security best practices and technologies including SSH, IPSec, TACACS, ISE, firewall policies, and 802.1x Experience programming COMSEC devices (e.g., KG-175A/G/F) Background in engineering secured enterprise telecommunication solutions Proven ability to provide engineering and technical leadership on complex projects Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at senior levels within customer organizations Desired Qualifications: CCNA or JNCIA certification Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Experience supporting high-performance computing environments Familiarity with IPS/IDS systems including network impacts Excellent written and verbal communication skills Original Posting Date: 2024-10-17 This job posting may remain open for at least 3 days from the original posting date, which is indicated above. Pay Range: $148,850.00 - $269,075.00 The Leidos pay range for this position is a general guideline only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
