Senior Category Manager - IT

Salary band to c£71k - £78k (including location allowances) excellent pension and wider benefits. London based client offering hybrid working and compressed hours opportunities. My client, a high profile public sector organisation with a spend level of c£800m p/a, are currently recruiting into Senior Category Manager level roles in the ICT, software, digital, infrastructure spend areas. Working within a department that is driving a progressive social value and sustainability agenda, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team / hands-on delivery of innovative category strategies, procurement / sourcing and contract management across spend areas such as digital, software, SaaS, Infrastructure, data centres, networks, voice and data, IT hardware etc. These roles will have direct reports, and my client is looking for candidates who will bring a coaching / mentoring leadership approach, in what is a L&D focussed environment. The successful candidate will ideally bring a blend of the following: - Background of developing innovative category strategies and/or contract management / supplier relationship management (SRM) protocols that deliver high quality commercial outcomes and value for money Experience of procuring / contract managing large complex information technology, digital, data and technology (DDaT) related services / goods in fast paced and dynamic environment Leadership / Management experience, ideally gained from working within a CPD / L&D culture. Excellent senior stakeholder relationship skills. Public Sector / OJEU / PCR2015 procurement experience is a desirable but not essential Candidates must be eligible to live / work in the UK and be prepared to go through a security clearance process.
