DevOps Engineer | Immersive Entertainment / Games | Remote (must be UK based) | 55K – 65K share options We are delighted to be recruiting a DevOps Engineer for a scaling entertainment studio in London. Our client has seen a large level of success in a relatively short time, with over a million downloads of its platform. There is so much scope for growth and they are currently expanding the quantity and diversity of content for their new platform and building out the tools for user generated content. As a member of the Live Operations Team, you would manage their cloud and build infrastructure and assist in the building/scaling of live operations within the business Responsibilities: Oversee and monitor scalable cloud services to ensure optimal performance. Working with a variety of technology infrastructures, identifying and implementing improvements for scalability and growth (focusing on managed cloud services and Unity3D). Develop automation solutions to streamline deployment, monitoring, and health checking processes. Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for their core cloud environments. Maintain existing services by applying patches and security fixes. Implement backup solutions and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data. Educate and promote DevOps practices across the team, ensuring everyone is informed about the live game’s health. Mentor team members in DevOps best practices to enhance overall team knowledge. Assist in developing an out-of-hours policy to manage any live incidents with their platform. Act as the first-line responder to any infrastructure issues. Experience Required: 2-3 years in a DevOps role, working with a live / online product or web based services Live Operations/Gaming background would be great but not essential Experience with deployment and monitoring of managed services in GCP, Azure, or AWS. Experience deploying to Google Cloud Platform would be a big bonus, but not essential Proficiency with at least one DevOps build pipeline tool (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). Understanding of Docker and comfortable working in Linux terminals. Scripting or programming experience. Ability to tailor communication to various roles within the company. Experience interacting with senior internal stakeholders and external clients. Ability to take responsibility for the company’s DevOps practices.
