Test Lead

Test Lead - £55-60K - Cheadle - Hybrid La Fosse are partnering with a UK based client who are looking for a Test Lead with a strong focus on Quality Assurance (QA) and testing to join their team in Cheadle. This is a new role, central to enhancing the company’s QA capabilities and ensuring the quality of critical systems. As the Test Lead, you will spearhead the QA and testing efforts across the business, ensuring that software products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role involves leading a team of testers, implementing robust testing frameworks, and driving the adoption of modern testing practices, particularly focusing on manual testing practices . You will work closely with development and product teams to ensure testing is integrated early in the development process, supporting a shift-left approach. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a QA team, providing direction and support in testing strategies and methodologies. Develop and implement comprehensive testing frameworks and processes that ensure the delivery of high-quality software. Working on manual testing practices, ensuring rigorous testing standards are maintained where automation is not yet in place. Ensure thorough testing across multiple platforms and technologies, managing the full QA lifecycle from planning to defect resolution. Participate in Agile practices such as Scrum and Kanban, promoting continuous testing and feedback throughout the software development lifecycle. Engage with third-party vendors and suppliers to support system implementation and factory acceptance testing. Requirements: Extensive experience in QA and manual testing, particularly with business-critical systems. Proven ability to lead and manage a team of testers, with strong mentoring and coaching skills. Industry experience in environments such as: Warehouses, Logistics, biomedical research or healthcare Backend Oracle experience AWS cloud Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, with a focus on embedding QA practices early in the development process. Excellent communication skills, capable of managing relationships and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
