Head of Engineering - Leading Entertainment Provider Permanent Role, Watford, Hybrid (2-3x a week in office) up to £160,000 Base Salary 25% Bonus Benefits An exciting opportunity for a Head of Engineering has arisen to join one of the leading entertainment providers in Europe that are going on a multi-year transformation journey. As part of their priority to drive innovation and stay ahead of the market, they are building a digital factory where all new front-end products and integrations of the backend for front-end will be developed. Within this role your responsibility will be providing a strategic vision and technology roadmap for the creation of these products, placing a core aim of high-quality end-to-end delivery of their products and services for the organizations Web and App function. Sitting in this new digital factory, you can expect to be working closely with other internal head's of including, but not limited to, Head of Digital product, Head of Digital Operations and Head of Data and Insight. Whilst there are currently multiple 3rd parties, you will be building a team that combines internal and 3rd parties to set up a business unit that is meant to provide constant engineering innovation. The successful candidate will be someone who is an implementer when it comes to building products and thinking for the future. You'll have a successful track-record of leading on innovation and strategy with a knack for budgeting, planning and hiring and developing successful teams. We are looking for someone who has: Strong experience creating a strategic vision and technology roadmap for the digital innovation of a company with a track-record of successful end-to-end delivery A strong background in front-end development, specifically leading teams across front-end, back-end and mobile (ideally Java, React and for mobile Kotlin and Swift) Extensive experience driving best practices within the engineering function, instilling principles like TDD Track-record of end-to-end delivery at pace, excellent prioritisation skills and opts for a metrics delivery approach Strong budget management experience, with the ability to allocate spend responsibly and forecast for future years Extensive experience managing distributed teams across in-house developers and nearshore 3rd party technical teams Experience in a fast-paced, large functioning engineering team, with a knack for driving improvements to streamline development across multiple development teams (both 3rd party and internal) Strong communication and senior stakeholder management skills Bonus: Gaming/betting/Trading experience - heavily regulated environment experience is a must This is a hybrid working role in Watford (2-3 days in the office).
