Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer | Manchester (Hybrid 1-2 days a month in office) | £55,000-£65,000 Bonus & Benefits KDR are working with one of our long-standing clients who are continuing their growth by looking to hire a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer with experience in Python programming, Linux systems and Ansible Automation. This is a unique, technical hands-on role that bridges the gaps of DevOps, Infrastructure & Automation. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will facilitate the development of the systems and platforms used internally to deliver their world leading consulting services. By utilising automation and infrastructure as code principals you will aid in the development and architecture of both new and existing systems. Responsibilities: Linux system administration (Ubuntu, Debian, Centos, Redhat) Automation with Ansible and AWX/Ansible Tower – Design, build, test, enhance and deploy automation code (roles, task, playbooks, collections) Design, build, test, enhance and deploy containers (Docker file, container networking) Managing, configuring and maintaining network infrastructure (switches and firewalls) Strong networking and routing knowledge and troubleshooting skills (Dell, HP, and Cisco) Excellent experience in managing and using virtualization tools (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) Maintaining relationships with software and service vendors. Collaborate with Technical Operations and Service Delivery in writing and maintaining documentation and training materials. Technical Stack: Ansible, Ansible Tower/AWX Buildings scripts (Bash and Python) and automated solutions Infrastructure as code (IaC) - Terraform Linux systems administration – Ubuntu. Debian, Kali, Redhat, Centos Redhat Identity Manager/FreeIPA VMware vCenter/ESXi Docker and Portainter Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Filbeat, Syslog Networking - network designs, firewall management, vpn configuring routing & switching - Cisco Dell and HP server build & management (ILO and iDRAC) NetApp – Installation, build out & maintained NetApp SAN infrastructure.
