We are currently seeking a talented Sr. Database Administrator to join our growing team. This role involves research, evaluation, and implementation of critical database solutions that impact organizational policies, procedures, and services. The Sr. DBA will collaborate with administrative, management, and programmatic subject matter experts to provide technical guidance and ensure alignment with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced systems software and business application systems for complex computing environments.
  • Provide expertise on operating systems and related system software in multi-user environments.
  • Manage the characteristics, capabilities, and use of operating system components, vendor software packages, and database systems.
  • Utilize coding techniques, including assembly-level, procedural, non-procedural, and job control languages, to create efficient database solutions.
  • Evaluate technical areas of significant consequence, recommending and developing new policies and procedures as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, influencing and motivating stakeholders to achieve program or departmental goals.
  • Ensure system performance, scalability, and security while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in systems software and/or business application system design, development, and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of database systems, teleprocessing systems, and operating systems in a multi-user environment.
  • Expertise in coding and programming using advanced languages, including procedural and non-procedural methods.

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field with 6 years of practical experience.

Substitutions for education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years of experience.
  • Master’s Degree = 4 years of experience.
  • PhD = 4 years of experience.

Alternatively, 4 years of specialized experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.


Preferred Skills:

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of advanced database optimization and management techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative team environments.
