Software Build Lead (AI GROUP)

THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a strategic software engineering lead to drive the modernization of AMD's AI build architecture. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about improving build systems and motivated to help scale the delivery of AMD's AI software stack.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Architecture AMD's build system
2. Contribute to major components of AMD's build system while leading a group of senior individual contributors
3. Work with stakeholders across many component teams to help modernize dependent build systems
4. Contribute to adjacent open-source projects taking leadership roles within them as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

1. Experienced Lead engineer
2. Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail
3. Deep knowledge of build systems such as cmake and ninja as well as experience improving overall e2e build speeds both locally and as part of hosted runners.
4. Experience with packaging of build systems
5. Effective communication and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

1. Prior leadership experience guiding teams to develop infrastructure and/or developer tooling
2. Prior experience modernizing a major build system leveraged by 100+ developers.
