Job details

MeUndies is a Los Angeles, CA-based underwear and loungewear company best known for its softer-than-soft basics. Founded in 2011, MeUndies disrupted the $110B underwear industry with the first online underwear subscription. Since then, the brand has inspired a passionate community of undie-obsessed individuals with its bold, comfortable products. And that’s only the beginning…

Today MeUndies has sold more than thirty million pairs of underwear and is profitable with double-digit YoY growth. It continues to redefine the subscription market by evolving the transactional subscription to a membership centered on community and relationships with the brand.

The innovative direct-to-consumer brand offers multiple purchasing options, including singles, packs, matching pairs, and monthly membership.

With a growing company comes an ever-increasing team full of innovative people. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our diverse engineering team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be the backbone of our technical team, driving the engine that powers our custom flagship Shopify-based ecommerce store, MeUndies.com.

On the Engineering team, you'll work closely with designers, product management, and other leads across MeUndies. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical architecture and driving complex projects to completion. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and works intimately with our talented local and offshore development teams.

What You'll Do

  • Implementing solutions to support our custom Shopify front and backend applications
  • Building and supporting our custom middleware layer of multiple backend services with unified APIs using GraphQL, ensuring seamless integration with platforms like Shopify, our in-house systems and various 3rd party services.
  • Helping promote a culture of learning and growth.
  • Effectively implementing unit testing and end-to-end testing, ensuring our systems are robust and reliable.
  • Collaborating closely with product management, QA and other teams to prioritize features and streamline the development process.
  • Championing best practices in software development, including TDD, code reviews, PR reviews, and pair programming, to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.

What You Have

  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience, with a strong background in TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, NoSQL and relational databases like PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
  • 1+ years experience working with the Shopify API ecosystem
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS cloud services (RDS, ECS, SQS, API Gateway) and infrastructure as code.
  • A deep understanding of TDD, continuous integration (CI/CD), and agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in modern CSS frameworks such as Tailwind CSS and Styled-Components a plus
  • Excellent mentoring skills and a passion for sharing knowledge through code reviews, pair programming, writing documentation, and one-on-one sessions.
  • Previous eCommerce experience, particularly with Shopify, and familiarity with PCI compliance best practices.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $149,000 -$175,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the base salary range provided in this posting does not include any bonus, equity, or benefits you may be eligible for.
