IT Systems Engineer

Location: You’ll have the flexibility to work fully remote from anywhere across the United States supporting PST hours (8am – 5pm PST).

Salary: $80 - $90/ hourly W2

Duration of contract: 3-6 months (opportunity for extension)

As a System Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining the operation and security of our system infrastructure. Primary duties will include installing, configuring, and optimizing hardware and software components to ensure peak performance and reliability. Monitor system activity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted business operations. Implement and enforce security policies to help protect data and networks from cyber threats and unauthorized access.

Along the way you will get to:

• Configure, install, and maintain hardware components for servers, storage systems, and network devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems software, with a focus on Microsoft Windows & Linux environments.
• Manage and optimize storage systems to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve system issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement software patches and updates across various systems to ensure security and stability.
• Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

We are looking for:

• B.S. in computer science or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
• Equivalent education includes technical school training and certifications in networks and servers.
• 3-6 years of experience in system engineering or a related role.
• Proficiency in hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
• Strong experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft Windows operating systems. Have experience with the following Windows OS: 2016, 2019, & 2022.
• Technical knowledge of server and client computing hardware.
• Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
• Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
• Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
