Enterprise Architect - Safety Critical Systems Development

Required Qualifications:

  1. Four years of working experience in Enterprise Architect role for a core safety critical project
  2. Knowledge and working experience in developing Enterprise Architecture using any of the following functional/software safety standards: MIL-STD-882, IEC 61508, EN 50128, DO 178B Level A/B
  3. Knowledge of all products/options available on Hardware, Operating Systems, Tools for safety critical project architecture, implementation and development
  4. Experience architecting systems with Real Time Java as a programming language option, with an understanding of Real Time Specification for Java (RTSJ)
  5. Detailed understanding of advantages/disadvantages of using Java/C++ programming languages for safety critical projects, including knowledge of safety critical Java initiatives such as JSR 302
  6. 12+ years of experience/knowledge in Information Technology in Java/Java EE applications

The candidate preferred to have:

  1. Enterprise Architecture certifications such as TOGAF/Zachman
  2. Experience in Networking Architecture, Security Architecture
  3. Operating system partition concepts/standards such as ARINC 653/MILS

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare Enterprise Architecture for safety critical Control Systems, preferably using Java as the primary implementation language
  2. Select Hardware, Operating System, Programming Languages, and tools for the safety critical project
  3. Prepare Enterprise Architecture for the safety critical project meeting regulatory standards
  4. Prepare development and implementation standards to be used for the safety critical project
  5. Interact with other Railroads to handle interoperability needs
  6. Prepare operating, supporting, and maintenance procedures, standards, and mechanisms
  7. Review and approve software design
  8. Present a viable safety critical architecture to regulatory authority and get it approved

Required Education, Training, Experience or Skills:

A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
