We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on modernization and technology transformation projects that will positively impact the critical missions of our government clients and solve challenges that aim to improve millions of lives across the globe.

Responsibilities:

Design & Development

  1. Design, create and maintain CI/CD software delivery pipelines & tools for an enterprise scale system with a large developer base.
  2. Design, create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) code artifacts.
  3. Design, create and maintain container-based application solutions.
  4. Write and run ad-hoc scripts (using Bash, Python, etc.) to automate DevOps processes.
  5. Participate in creating long-term and short-term strategies for scaling cloud environments.
  6. Work with development teams to troubleshoot specific issues by recreating tests, validating configuration, etc.
  7. Provide deployment support by deploying applications and microservices in cloud environments.
  8. Advance DevOps processes and technologies using emerging technologies and cloud native tools.

Operations

  1. Adhere to a comprehensive incident management program including problem management. Generate KPIs for service availability, uptime, and adherence to SOPs, and SLAs.
  2. Maintain, monitor, and help improve the performance and availability of the 24x7 production environment including networks, servers, databases, etc.
  3. Manage operational maintenance such as OS patches, security vulnerabilities, etc. to ensure healthy status of various prod and non-prod environments.
  4. Administer network monitoring system, alerting, log management, and other IT systems.
  5. Participate in on-call rotation and provide hands-on support during emergencies, outages, and service transitions.
  6. Improve system visibility and applications with advanced monitoring, metrics, and log analytics.
  7. Analyze and identify root causes on critical problems, incident reports and communication.

Qualifications:

  1. Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, especially with Jenkins using Groovy.
  2. Solid understanding of container-based technologies, especially Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS, OpenShift.
  3. Solid understanding of microservice concepts.
  4. Technical knowledge of Azure managed services.
  5. Hands-on experience with Terraform, Azure CLI, and AWS CLI.
  6. Technical knowledge of AWS managed services (VPC, EC2, EKS, RDS), including monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS CloudWatch, NewRelic.
  7. Experience with code management systems (Git, Subversion).
  8. Experience maintaining Java/Node web applications (Spring Boot, React).
  9. Keen communication and teamwork abilities.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar required.

Work Authorization: US citizenship required in order to obtain a US government Public Trust clearance.

Location/Remote: Hybrid, candidate must be local to DC Metro and ready to come onsite at least once a week.
