Business Development/Technical Sales Lead

Reports to: VP of Business Operations

Region Responsibility: Northern California

Responsibilities for this position include the following:

  1. Driving sales and new business growth for the organization
  2. Driving RFQ, RFP and Interviews for opportunities
  3. Meeting Sales targets and objectives
  4. Maintaining required pipeline to meet YOY sales and Revenue goals
  5. Attending and participating in market networking, events and conferences
  6. Developing and maintaining relationships with Architects, Owners, Consultants and Program/Construction Managers
  7. Meeting in-person with Owners/Architects/CMs presenting PowerPoint or other presentation collateral
  8. Connecting TQ leaders with strategic contacts
  9. Maintaining a log of all current and future specific project opportunities
  10. Sales pipeline management through CRM software
  11. Working collaboratively with business and plant operations leaders on forecasting revenue and plant production schedules
  12. Learning and applying XL Industries’ Business Acquisition Process to increase relationships and wins
  13. Understanding the details and technical aspects of the TQ building solutions, i.e., sustainability, prefabrication, timber, product limitations, price and schedule parameters, etc.
  14. Being a TQ brand ambassador participating in industry events, podcasts, etc.

Requirements for this position include the following:

  1. Minimum 10 years’ experience as a business development professional in design or construction.
  2. Public education and civic industry experience including knowledge of procurement and project delivery methods
  3. Knowledge of mass timber construction and/or prefabrication is desirable
  4. History of bringing in closable opportunities
  5. Comfortable presenting to an audience and managing business development events
  6. BA/BS degree desirable
