Quality Assurance Analyst

James Adams is currently looking for an experienced QA Analyst. This is a permanent position for a client based in East Midlands, working hybrid remotely. Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience Job Description As a Quality Assurance Analyst within our feature team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and user experience of our People First product. You will lead user and behavior-driven testing efforts, advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle, and work closely with the team to deliver exceptional results. Key Responsibilities: User-Centric Approach: Prioritize the end-user experience throughout the development and planning process. Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners and Delivery Leads to ensure requirements align with behavior-driven development practices. Critical Thinking: Employ critical thinking and cognitive bias skills to question assumptions, ensure clarity, and uncover potential gaps. Quality Assurance: Support the team in building quality into every stage of the development lifecycle. Agile Methodology: Actively participate in agile practices, such as peer reviews, test-driven development, and daily stand-ups. Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest ways to enhance quality within team processes and the product. Coaching: Mentor developers to improve their testing mindset and skills, including critical thinking. Quality Advocacy: Champion quality throughout the team. Manual and Automation Testing: Conduct both manual and automated testing, leveraging TypeScript and Playwright for efficient and comprehensive test coverage. Defect Management: Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and the delivery team to prevent bugs by identifying potential issues early. Exploratory Testing: Conduct exploratory testing to uncover unexpected issues. Accessibility and Performance: Validate the application's accessibility and performance. Customer Support: Assist Delivery Leads with customer cases, including direct customer contact when necessary. Mentorship: Mentor junior Quality Analysts. Essential Skills and Experience: Experience with automation testing using TypeScript and Playwright. Experience with cross-browser/device testing, web testing, test-driven development/behavior-driven development, and preventative testing techniques. Experience with testing RESTful web services.
