Our valued client is in need of a talented Telecommunications Engineer! This is an amazing opportunity to work with a true leader in the Telecom industry!
Role Overview:
The Telecommunications Engineer will play a critical role in designing and developing wireline and wireless network solutions for our client’s properties, including apartments, student and retirement housing, gated communities, and other multi-dwelling unit (MDU) locations. This role involves evaluating infrastructure, conducting RF and network design computations, creating technical documentation, and collaborating with multiple teams to ensure quality and efficiency in network deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Network Design & Analysis:
o Compile customer assessments, infrastructure evaluations, strategic product checklists, and surveys to design comprehensive WAN/LAN solutions.
o Perform indoor and outdoor network design computations using tools such as Ekahau, BlueBeam, and CAD.
o Analyze network systems, identify areas for improvement, and develop scalable solutions that account for future growth.
• Documentation & Reporting:
o Prepare detailed quote documents, estimates, and proposal responses.
o Create and maintain Architectural Design Specifications and a database of approved equipment elements for digital Bill of Materials.
o Develop process and workflow documentation to streamline operations.
• Collaboration & Project Management:
o Work closely with Design Engineering, Sales Engineering, Managed WiFi Operations, and other teams to deliver high-quality design solutions.
o Manage projects of varying size, scope, and complexity, ensuring timely delivery of priorities.
o Provide leadership in guiding stakeholders to define design criteria and requirements for effective solutions.
• Application & Technical Leadership:
o Serve as an application leader, maximizing the effectiveness of design tools while training colleagues on their optimal use.
o Maintain and update technical documentation with precision and clarity.
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 3–5 years in network design, technical documentation, or related fields.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Ekahau, BlueBeam, Visio, CAD, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Salesforce.
o Knowledge of networking technologies including DOCSIS, PON, HFC, Ethernet, Routing, Switching, APs, WiFi, Fiber, Coax, and CATx.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong documentation, writing, and editing skills.
o Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deliverables effectively.
o Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in multi-dwelling unit (MDU) network design.
• Familiarity with property-wide campus planning and network infrastructure strategy.
• Background in technical writing or architectural documentation.
