We are working a provider of top quality editorial and peer review services for academic publishers who are looking to build a team of Managing Editors to undertake a big journal migration project for one of their major publishing clients. The project should run until July 2025 and our client is happy to consider part-time or full-time candidates. This is a fully home-based role. Role Overview: The Managing Editor will oversee the migration of journals from ScholarOne to a new bespoke system, working alongside a team and liaising with key client counterparts in both the UK and US. They will have regular check-ins with the Project lead and provide updates on progress at agreed check points. Key responsibilities include: Completing pre-alignement assessments on the submission system currently in use, ensuring workflow is correctly documented for the migration to the new system Managing conversations with Editors and other external stakeholders to help facilitate a smooth migration Reviewing the criteria for the migration to assess risks and identify potential issues, keeping the tracker up to date throughout the process Person Specification: Solid knowledge and experience of using ScholarOne for peer review management is a must have for this role, however training on the new bespoke system will be provided. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in academic journals, and preferably some experience of change management.
