System Engineer

Insight Global is seeking talented Scripting Engineers to join a leading financial institution in Birmingham. This recruitment drive responds to delays in critical projects across multiple engineering teams, necessitating an immediate expansion of the development workforce to ensure timely completion. As a developer within the company, you'll be expected to wear many hats, not only developing code from scratch but also assisting with testing, code reviews, and support. The ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of Scripting with Pearl/Shell/JavaScript Programming experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Consultants are expected to work on-site 5 days per week. This initiative begins with a six-month contract, with strong potential for extensions based on performance and project needs. It's an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects at a prestigious financial institution, potentially leading to long-term career growth in the financial industry This would be an initial 6 month contract; reporting onsite Monday-Friday. This will be in the Birmingham location. Applicants MUST be okay with being onsite daily in the location closest to them. Applicants should have experience with the following: 3-5 years of Strong programming skills in Perl, Shell / Korn Shell, Java Scripts Experience with writing and testing code, debugging for various projects. Familiarity with distributed storage systems like DB2, Sybase / Sybase IQ, MongoDB Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines especially using Git Working knowledge of Unix/Linux experience () Previous Goldman Sachs experience Financial industry experience
