Cyber Security Specialist

About the Role: Reporting to the IE/UK HVDC Service Manager, the Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing cyber-specific projects, network and security architectures, and ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements. Responsibilities: Assist in designing and implementing Cyber specific projects and systems Deliver sustainable services to maintain customer-specific SLA’s Ensure project and service deliverables meet defined cyber security requirements Introduce new cyber security-related policies, standards, and practices Contribute to identifying, managing, and reducing cyber security risks Anticipate and influence current and future technologies and trends Represent Hitachi Energy as a cyber security expert in customer discussions Create, maintain, and share understanding of global cyber security risks and market requirements Integrate into an existing On-Call roster Develop and follow network diagrams and overall network architecture Participate in cyber security risk assessments as a subject-matter expert Interface with R&D departments and customers to meet and exceed expectations Contribute to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement Liaise with project management on outage development and provide cost estimates Qualifications: A university degree in a relevant technical area, preferably Computer Science. Experience with databases, scripting languages, and network equipment is required. Security clearance to comply with BS7858:2019 is necessary. Required Skills: Excellent customer focus experience Experience with high-availability solutions Experience with port-, vulnerability-, and malware scanners Knowledge of intrusion detection systems and security information event monitoring Experience with Microsoft client- and server operating systems Experience with Active Directory and integration with third-party devices Preferred Skills: Experience in critical infrastructure Equal Opportunity Statement: Hitachi Energy is committed to diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of employment.
