Chief Technology Officer

CTO Up to £90,000 London (Hybrid/Remote) Company: This company a fast-paced transport start-up who are focused on reducing pollution. They aim to utilise the latest advancements in tech to disrupt the transport and mobility space. They are looking for a hands-on CTO to driving the technological vision and strategy. Responsibilities: Set the technical direction, make key architecture decisions, and establish best practices to maintain a cutting-edge tech stack. Oversee the development, implementation, and scaling of products, ensuring it meets high standards of quality and performance. Be hands-on, especially in the early stages, contributing to coding, troubleshooting, and problem solving Play a key role in recruiting top technical talent, building a high-performing engineering team as the company scales. Make strategic decisions about in-house development versus leveraging third-party solutions to optimise resources Communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear alignment. Requirements: Proven success in leading technology teams and delivering complex, scalable software products in a highgrowth environment. PhD in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory An entrepreneurial mindset; experience in a tech-driven start-up is a plus Strong coding skills in Python and SQL Strong knowledge of database management systems, particularly PostgreSQL, Redis, and Chromadb, with experience in cloud services, especially AWS. Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Docker, GitHub, and server management with Ubuntu.
