Risk Manager - Must be eligible for security clearance Location: Leatherhead | Competitive Salary Excellent Benefits Lead Risk Management for Innovative Project Delivery We have a fantastic opportunity for a Risk Manager to join a leading organisation within the Government Services sector. This role is central to driving risk management activities while supporting the digital transformation of project delivery and increasing innovation within the business. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to shape risk strategies for ground breaking developments. About the Role: As a Risk Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying, capturing, analysing, and reporting project risks, issues, benefits, and lessons learned. Working closely with the senior management, you'll be tasked with using advanced risk management tools and techniques to ensure the effective management of project risks. You’ll also lead workshops, ensure compliance with risk management frameworks, and provide valuable insights to enhance business performance and project safety. Key Responsibilities: Risk Management Leadership: Implement and oversee risk management plans for complex and innovative projects, ensuring effective risk mitigation strategies. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with senior leaders, project teams, consultants, and contractors to manage project risks and opportunities. Digital Innovation: Play a key role in the approval and risk rating of new digital tools, ensuring they align with the business appetite for risk control and innovation. Continuous Improvement: Lead the development and tracking of mitigation actions and regularly update risk registers, ensuring projects are delivered within risk parameters. Training & Support: Train and coach project teams on risk management frameworks and quantitative techniques to foster a risk-aware culture within the organisation. Reporting & Analysis: Provide detailed risk management reports and insights to inform senior leadership and support decision-making. What You’ll Bring: Project Controls Experience – solid background in managing risks within project controls. Technical Expertise – knowledge of risk management software (e.g., Primavera Risk Analysis, Pertmaster, Crystal Ball) and quantitative risk assessment tools. Leadership & Collaboration Skills – ability to lead workshops, influence multiple stakeholders, and communicate effectively with senior leaders. Problem-Solving Skills – experience using risk management techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations and three-point estimates. Proactive & Detail-Oriented – a forward-thinking approach with the ability to adapt to change and ensure projects remain on track. Preferred Qualifications: BSc/MSc in a relevant field or equivalent vocational qualification (HNC/HND). Risk Software Practitioner trained – essential for success in this role. Experience with planning software (Primavera 6, MS Project) is desirable. Why Join?
